Royal India – Mexico City (Polanco)

This upscale Indian restaurant in the equally upscale Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City delivers high-quality food that matches its high prices.

I ordered chicken tikka masala, but was given something that didn’t look like it. Six spicy pieces of chicken breast tasted great so I didn’t care if I received the wrong order. I also ordered steamed rice.

I apologize for featuring the rice over the chicken. A professional photographer I am not. And the next one is worse. You can barely see what my friend ordered. 🤣

She ordered pescado madras. It surpassed my chicken in flavor. I’d say it was the best Indian dish I’ve ever tasted.

The naan, torn into pieces served as mini-tortillas for tacos de pescado madras.

We weren’t terribly hungry. That’s why we just ordered the two main dishes, rice and naan. They totaled almost $700mxn. With tip, close to $800mxn. That’s $40usd without drinks.

My next goal is to find an Indian restaurant in the city which tastes good at a much lower price. Atmosphere and location are not important to me and not worth paying extra for.
